There are loads more parts im sure but cant remember Very Happy

right back to the start

i bought my saxo vtr in october 2003 i think

first mod was the bmc induction kit but it wasnt long before i also bought a supersprint racing decat and middle box rememover with a scorpion sazuka back box which was pritty noisy to say the least lol

then came the suspension at the time i loved it and i dont care what you say it didnt handle that bad i had a spax psx kit with spax -60mm springs and rear lowered 100mm with brakes adjusted to suit

then it was time for the alloys i knew all along that the turbo was going to happen so i ordered some 16 inch OZ supperlegeras

next came the VTS conversion i did this at home on the floor in a day and a half couldnt belive how easy it was only thing i regreated was i kept the vtr box on which made it good 1st and 2nd but was abit long in the other gears

next i got the huge brakes and strut braces

next i bought the dimma grill and headlamp conversion and i made my double inlets in my lights

then in 2005 it was time to brave the track for the first time and before i did out came the rear seats the rear quater trims etc..

after suffering at kames with the rear locking which every one told me was due to my suspension i decided to go for some hardcore suspension so that got ordered from various places and fitted i was impressed by the handling but the rear locking up was even worse so the time came to fit an adjustable biav valve in the car

at a similar time i decided i also needed buckets and harnesses as i was sliding all over the shop on the track i also removed the carpet and sound proofing

then it happened was driving home from work and the engine starting tapping really loud

i stripped the rockers off and it all looked ok so took the cam belt covers off and it was ok so tryed to turn the engine over and found the engine was turning but the belt wasnt the wood rough key had sheered and the bottom pully stopped turning Sad

so out came the vts engine and back in the vtr

after 2 weeks the clutch started slipping Evil or Very Mad so off came the box again and in went a new performance clutch and it was all ok again

after meeting andy dea at kames 2005 i was really interested in his prodject and was watching it happen like a hawlk then i was shocked when he text me to tell me he was selling up and wanted to know if i wanted any parts which i obviously bit his hands off for them Very Happy

i bought all his turbo stuff and afew other bits was well pleased this was december 2005 i think lol

next i stripped downthe vts engine

i had been pritty lucky really only bent 4 valves and everything else was ok

so it was time to order the parts after alot of fcuking about which i wont go into it in here but most people know any way lol i finally got my pistons rods and head back which was fully worked with bigger valves etc...

so i rebuilt the engine myself

it had to be done so i fished my turbo bits out and slotted them on the engine just for a look Very Happy

any way the engine was fully done ready to go back in

so the engine was done but i would have been abit rude to fit it with an ma box so along came the be3 conversion i bought all the genuine mounts from pugsport but the box i had didnt have the corect casing for the top mount Sad so i bought another be3 box and swooped the insides about and it fit nicely with my new ap twin plate Very Happy

then came kames 2006 i was pleased too find that i had changed from my vts engine last year back to my vtr engine and i was 3 seconds a session faster than my previous best which was a a second a lap which i was pleased with as its only a small track

so the vtr engine came back out and the vts back in it was all in so then came the custom shafts to be measured up and made but then the bloke making the shafts said there was no point going to all this expense with the uprated box and shafts then fitting dog shit saxo outer cv joints as they were made from toffie lol so after alot of research and a friendly engineer i converted my hubs to 206 gti 180 type to take the larger cast cv joints rather that the pressed tin ones on the saxo so that was sorted

but i was reading the forum in the suspension section about polly bushes and thought to my self i had gone to all the expense of a shit hot suspension setup and i had the 7 year old rubber bushes on my car so i decided to stop messing about and ordered some shitroen sport group n front arms and pugsport group n rear beam bushes also i thought the top mount were taking plenty of hammer so i rang comp brake who sent me some new spring tops and alloy strut tops which i recived and found the nut of the damper pistion fit really shit only about 3 threads so back to my engineer who machines my top nuts how i wanted them and they fit like a glove Very Happy

any way it was all sorted so the engine could be started which it did first turn of the key sweet as a nut Very Happy i was well pleaed

i set about running it in did 500 miles on running in oil then a further 500 miles on normal mineral oil

then was the time to give it some pain to check it didnt fall apart after the rebiuld and it was good news it even seemed pritty fast for a low compression car was just as fast as any standard vts

next i was persuaded to go on track at trax 2007 so i booked it and 3 days before my exhaust cracked so i tryed to order a new supersprint centre even though it was only going to be used for another week but as usaul the hole of italy was on they anual holidays so it was either cancel or put the standard vtr section on the vts engine which i did and i couldnt belive the power it sapped i went from been like a standard vts to slower than a vtr Sad it just struggled like hell to get past 6k i presume the low comp was the main cause of this

so i did trax with ssc then at half 4 i was walking past the padock and i heard an anouncement that there was loads of spare places for the last session so they had cut the price by half so then me and masher whent running back to the ssc stand to find we were virtually the only cars there and went and did a further 30mins on track and all was good except my tyres lol

back to the parts i got my turbo manifold and down pipe to cam coat for ceramic coating inside and out

next came the lengthy conversation with john from GMC who took me step by step through the bast things to get now to get good power and the right way to do it

so the car was taken off the road and the front end was stripped down to nothing virtually the exhaust manifold was removed and the inlet was removed i fitted new new fuel pipes and my cam position sensor

then i had a problem we didnt think i would have engough fuel with 4 injectors for the power i was after so i did some research and found chris at nor-mal who was happy to take on the job of cutting up and chopping and welding some very expensive parts after alot wasnt confident enought of doing it after i told them how much it was worth lol

now i have fitted all the turbo and inlet on
and found the intercooler wouldnt fit due to the size of the turbo so i welded a new section on to the front crossmember and moved the rad/intercooler mounts farward 2 inches and all was well until i tryed to close the bonnet lol

so i put my new kevlar bonnet on and trimmed it to death till it would close job done lol this is now away at the body shop

now i have connected some of the pipes up

my other 4 injectors arrived so they have been fitted

i have fully fitted the inlet now with a ptfe gasket and thats it for now sorry for the huge first post lol

work in progress
