i cant remember exactly, it was many years ago. something to do with the head pressurising the coolant (and it wasnt the gasket).

Haha. How times have changed. When I joined here, I had to use a computer to access emails and Internet, Saxo's were still in main dealers and available brand new.

Now I'm sitting here getting notified on Facebook without even clicking on the site I know if someone posts.

Hi tek!

who are you?

wondered what the facebook thing was all about :D

well the canon range starts at about 370 with the 1000D which comes with 18-55mm lens, likewise the Sony A230 comes in at 350 with the same length lens.

so youll be looking at roughly the same price for entry level SLR area. image quality wise to be honest youll probably see much and much the same, there are probably more lenses available to upgrade to on the canon tbh.

which leaves comfort/control access.. get yourself down jessops (or similar) and hold a few to see what youre more comfortable using.

(note - i have used neither of the above camera, it may be worth doing a bit of googling for actual reviews etc)

re the pagefile - a LOT of software expects it to be there, when they cant find it they can take longer to respond.

what AV are you running? it might be the on access scanner is being a bit OTT.

and agree with matt chrome is shit.

huh? you turned off the pagefile?

there are several reasons why you shouldnt do that. and it will probably hamper your system (even with ample amounts of memory). personally id leave it on system managed.
