Hi Somers,

As other people have suggested, I would recommend either a hardware based VPN connection between both sites or a Terminal Server at your main site. Out of the two, I would base it on what hardware you already own.

Cheers, Budzy

Troubleshooting & Technical Issues / Intermittent accelerator problem
« on: 03, June, 2007, 20:58:10 PM »
Hi all :)

Wonder if anyone could give me a few ideas on what might be causing this problem:

I own a 106 GTi with a gmc s/c setup. I was driving the car home from work, and after about a mile I suddenly lost all power when applying pressure to the accelerator (almost as if the accelerator just wasn’t working) I started to slow down and was able to pull over. Stopped the car and then fired it up again - when I again applied pressure to the accelerator while stationary the car stalled (I noticed the boost gauge when applying pressure to the accelerator nearing zero, almost as if the car was running lean?). Repeated this a few times with the same result (when the car does idle the revs are bouncing around slightly, but only between 1k and 1.2k). Popped the bonnet and made sure nothing had come away, got back into the car after a minute or so and fired her up again, this time applying pressure to the accelerator actually increased the revs and I was able to drive away. During the drive home, the same thing happened again a few times, and I also noticed the car would idle while moving at the same revs that I had just been doing while in gear if I were to dip the clutch.

Done a search on here and found lots of threads that mention about Saxos and 106s cutting out, and so I have a check list of things to go through, but was unable to find any thing similar to what I have. I\'ve checked the throttle cable and i dont think its playing up - I would suspect it\'s something like a sensor giving a bad reading but unsure to be honest. Sadly I’ve not got much confidence in driving the car on long journeys or during rush hours at the mo as this has happening twice within a month.

All ideas welcome. Thank you for reading.

Make sure you change the fuel pump when your on a low tank of fuel otherwise it will get messy as i found out haha (i have a good excuse tho as the sender was giving me a low reading). Its a pretty easy job.
