General Chat / Question...
« on: 12, April, 2009, 14:27:05 PM »
Forget it, its obvious that this forum is exactly how I thought it would be and is filled with chavs, boy/girl racers and general dicks who couldn\'t give a shit about anyone else who is having trouble because all they care about is themselves.

Ah yes, it is a wind up because cock\'s like yourself who cannot accept criticism about something have to lower themselves to insults.

Pathetic.

I am glad it makes you smile, although being an event organiser I am sure that you never promoted bad driving but I also highly doubt that you stop people who do drive like that.

Doubtful, I can drive and if you class \"driving\" as racing round like an arsehole then you must be one of the wankers who keeps insurance costs so high.
As for looking after a car, washing and waxing every month and keeping all fluids topped up and checked every few days.

General Chat / Question...
« on: 12, April, 2009, 13:44:40 PM »
Right, quick question for everyone with an opinion to answer;
Why are saxo\'s so shit to drive, expensive to own and rot worse than the shit that rover were selling?

I ask this because I have a VTR and it has to be the worst car I have ever owned, does 22mpg on a good day(I have 5 points so drive 2mph under any speed limit), the steering is vague at best (my old volvo had more response and feedback) and I saw somebody\'s saxo the other day that had more rust than paint on it.

Any idea why or is it just that french pieces of toss cars like citroen and peugeot are cheap shit cars which just end up costing a fortune?

Non Car related stuff For Sale / iphone 3G
« on: 23, March, 2009, 11:51:51 AM »
I have an iphone 3G 8gb which I don\'t use for sale if anybody is interested, comes in original box with everything(earphones are not even opened) as I used the phone for a few weeks and went back to my old one again.

Asking for offers around £250-£300 and would suggest it being picked up in person.

Engines & Tuning / 1.1 saxo ! How do i go about dropping a vts in ?
« on: 09, March, 2009, 12:11:33 PM »
I\'m running with 5 points myself and wouldn\'t even contemplate doing an undeclared engine swop because it voids everything when you do one and if caught, you could be looking at a legthy ban if caught. Yes, you WILL get caught eventually.

Why not just buy a VTS instead of messing about with an engine swop? Unless you are planning on not declaring the engine swop and voiding your tax, insurance and MOT all in one go....

Has anybody(pref in the NW) got some standard vtr alloys OR a set of alloys that would fit my VTR, pref as cheap as possible and doesn\'t matter if they have tyres or not.

Thanks

Brakes, Suspension & Steering / Advice please!
« on: 05, March, 2009, 14:10:33 PM »
Thanks for the input, I am sort of testing the water at the moment because I will be using it mainly for road use so wouldn\'t really need the expense of coilovers but would like it so then its lower and has stiffer suspention so then I can take it on a track once or twice.

Brakes, Suspension & Steering / Advice please!

Hey all, as you can prob tell by my post count, I am very new around here and wanted to ask some questions and get some opinions from you all.

I have recently come into ownership of a \'99 VTR and after coming to it from a heavily modified metro I wasn\'t too sure about it and was pleasently surprised, even with the horrific chav reputation that they seem to have...

Anyways, as I am new to torsion bars and the general handling/suspention setup of saxo\'s, I wanted to know what people have tried and what they suggest an what is a big no-no(like letting fluid out of metro suspention instead of individualisting it and lowering it properly). I am not too bothered about the speed of the car at the moment as I prefer to get handling and stopping sorted before booting in 130+ bhp.

Sorry for the essay, I am sure you are all fed up of people like me asking dumb questions like this....

Troubleshooting & Technical Issues / Engine management light.....
« on: 23, February, 2009, 01:23:52 AM »
Model: mk1 VTR
Year: 1999
Mileage: 93k
Modifications: None to the engine that is known.

Right, the problem is as follows; I was driving to work sunday morning and near the end of the M57 my engine management light suddenly popped on. Being quite concerned that it could be something major, I gently eased the car the last few miles to work and proceeded to consult the citroen book, (yes, i need a haynes but only had the car since last tuesday) apparently its a problem with the fuel/ignition system.
This I could understand but the car runs perfectly, no odd sounds and it pulls fine all through the rev range so I am totally perplexed as to what it could be or how to reset the light so it goes off.

I.T & Computers Chat / AVG - How can I get rid of it?
« on: 22, February, 2009, 20:31:53 PM »
Fair enough, from my experience in computers and anti-virus\' I wouldn\'t use or advise any home user to use anything other than AVG and wouldn\'t reccommend anything I don\'t use myself ;)

AVG > Kespersky
All day long.

If you are having trouble removing the program then startup your computer in safe mode(hopefully you know what your doing) and then scan your computer for any files named AVG. If that doesn\'t help then you are going to need to check your registry and unless you know what you are doing I would advise against it because it *could* kill your computer if you do the wrong thing.

Introductions - New Members / Yet another new person....
« on: 22, February, 2009, 19:38:45 PM »
Hey everyone who reads this, if nobody had guessed, my name is CJ and I am from the sunny(har har) north west of England in a town called Southport.
Currently I am a student and have been a rover fanboy(mainly metros) for the past few years and after a couple of accidents I thought I would have a bit of a browse around the car market to see what else was out there.
I had a volvo which was bloody comfy but was scary as hell on the m\'way(tracking and balanced wheels yet drifted around like it was on ice) and then got a rover 25 which was a pile of crap(no wonder rover went down).
So now I have a Saxo VTR which I was sold at a cheap price but it is not looking it\'s best atm with dents and scratches all over it but its got a 12 month ticket and has a very torquey engine which did surprise me after years of slagging my dads 206 hdi off about being french shite!

Anyways, for those who are still reading after that little essay just hello and I hope I fit in here as well as I did with my old metro club. Oh and here is a quick picture of it, you can make out one of the dents by the door!
