General Chat / Funking Customers
« on: 07, February, 2009, 09:17:54 AM »
Just had a phone call from a customer stuck on the M3 saying they have broken down, turns out from the next part of the conversation they haven\'t broken down they have run out of fuel.  Blaming us for it saying the fuel guage is fubered, been to Wigan from the Isle of Wight in the car and have put £75 in it, obviously not driving sensibly because they are only on a 24 hour hire so 230 mile ish journey there and 230 mile journey back, left our yard at 1PM yesterday, 1 hour Ferry and 4 hours to Wigan is 6PM not accounting for stops.  On the way back not accounting for stops they started out around 4-5AM?

The long and the short of it is, they have no money and we have had to get the RAC out to them (at our cost) and we will never see that money back, all for a £30 hire :(

I thought as you guys are surfing all day you might be best to comment on this.  I\'m in the process of building my own blog and wondered if you could give me some constructive critism, need to know whether the layout is ok and if you think I should make any adjustments.

This impressed me and thought it worth sharing, I don\'t think i\'ve ever seen a more commited drive (except maybe touring cars, where bashing and cost are\'nt as much an issue)

Engines & Tuning / Management
« on: 19, June, 2008, 09:13:19 AM »
Right guys time to open up another can of worms...... Aint got the money any time soon but once the car is back together this is the next thing that really needs doing.
Sooooo what to use, thinking KMS as its no hassle regarding wiring but am I better to pay a little extra and go with anything else?

Spec is very mild now but going for reliability and concentrating on the overall game, brakes, suspension etc to counter my lack of power.

Spec is as follows

VTS engine
Ported, Polished and Gas Flowed Head (Unknown origin, came with the engine)
Piper 285 cams
Raceland 4-2-1 Manifold
Janspeed Sports Cat
Janspeed Cat back System
Green Enclosed (when i fix it)

I don\'t really care about figures its more about drivability and before anyone asks no the spec wont change everthing is bought and almost fitted, im not going down the throttle body route as the cams aren\'t nearly lairy enough and if I were going to that hassle i\'d go solids, hi comps and big revs.

Engines & Tuning / Advice (Fuel Rail related)
« on: 15, May, 2008, 06:40:42 AM »
Just in the process of putting the 16v back together and found a hose tucked behind the block and bunged up.  In the picture here it\'s the secondary one with the jubilee clip on.  I presume it\'s the return hose to the fuel tank?  My tank doesnt have a return because of it being a 1.0 to start with.  I\'m now wondering if this may be some of my intermitant starting issues?  Anyone else come across this?  I\'m gonna shorten the hose anyways as its about 800mm long at the moment LOL and just waving around in the bay.

Just logged into ebay to check the status of an auction I had running for my Series 1-3 Box set of LOST Ebay Auction to find it\'s been pulled by ebay due to FACT reporting it as it could be a copy, no chance to defend myself and put the reference number off the box into the auction, Just pulled.  So i sent FACT a piece of my mind through email ;)

« on: 03, December, 2007, 10:44:16 AM »
As a running project i\'ll be in ownership of one in a minute but just to firm up a few things....

I realise if i decide to run the Saxo VTS inlet i\'ll be tapping out but how about cams etc, can these be switched from the VTS head and can i run the GT cams?

We currently have a network on one of sites and we are looking at a second site.  One of the applications we use is held on our master computer (needs to connect to the internet to operate) and the other computers link through the network to that program.  How or what do I need to use to connect via a remote location to that computer/network.

Projects & Blogs / Progress Thread for the rebuild on my Track Car
« on: 03, November, 2007, 15:10:34 PM »
As some of you will know 2 years ago the car was an 8v supercharged after a few money issues i stripped the motor of its valuable bits. Keeping the stuff i really wanted/needed (suspension mainly)

The cars not turned a wheel for 18months and bounced between 2 garages that are owned by the company i work for but I had a few days off in the week to start the rebuild :D

Dash oot ready for matrix and loom rapage :D
Had to cut it out to get it past the cage though LOL good job i\'ve got a new one to put in ;)

So much to get done its taking over the car..... on the car and under the car LOL

Good job my gaffer don\'t mind the car being around LOL
