Engines & Tuning / Turbo Cams
« on: 11, June, 2011, 09:21:48 AM »
Any one using catcam 735 turbo cams where does your power start to tail off?

mine starts to tail off about 6300-6400rpm with peak power at 6134rpm and peak torque at 5100rpm

just wonderd if it was due to cam timing or this is just how these cams are or if there is somthing else holding me back

Doubt its the turbo as its making 1.5 bar of boost way past 7k nicely

Im not having any probs with it i just expected it to keep going in to higher revs and thought it might be somthing worth discusing on here

Thanks

well managed to do a track day on sat at mallory and it didnt blow up only ran low boost though as my driving leaves alot to be desired and decided there was no point doing silly speeds down the straight if i couldnt get round the corner lol

Havent driven it in anger since 2007 so trying to get back into it rear end feels funny on turn in but could just be me or due to the fuel tank need to look in to that

aslong as the green one and blue one are plugged in it will be fine the brown one is for aircon system and is fitted but not used on alot of engines

as for the one in the block thats oil level i belive which again wont affect engine running

Quick update

Got the car back yesterday after alot of head scratching but that was expected lol

Power is less than i expected but this was done on a proper loaded hub dyno they guy said on a normal dyno power run it will probably show big power

i havent driven it on hig boost yet as i want to get some miles on it first but its pritty dam nippy at 0.6 bar :-D

Theres room for improvment next year though lol

could you not swoop the pipe round use the 90 at the turbo and move to the front oil gallery on the head?

then put the breather back how it should be?
